As we all know, Brighton is one of the UK’s most exciting places for new music, and being right in the middle of it couldn’t be more inspiring. There is always live music playing somewhere in the city, from acoustic nights in cosy pubs to late-night DJ sets in busy venues, there’s something for everyone. But why is it such a great place to be for emerging artists?
Brighton’s Uniqueness
The diversity of genres and fashion styles shows just how inclusive and welcoming Brighton truly is. “I love how unapologetically themselves everyone in the Brighton scene is” says Dan Smith, A&R Assistant. This creative freedom allows the development of new, quirky subgenres and band identities, giving Brighton a special edge that most other cities fail to match.
Music Venues
The city is packed with grassroots venues, supporting the independent live music scene and giving local artists the chance to perform their first gig, host EP release shows and build real communities.
Pool Valley’s monthly event, Pulse Culture, will be hosted at DUST, a venue that shares our passion for emerging talent and creating an inclusive atmosphere. The night blends live bands and DJ’s, offering a new experience for the Brighton audience.
With their help, we want to give local artists/bands the space to grow, experiment and be heard!
Pool Valley and Brighton
As a student-run, community-focused record label, Pool Valley is proud to be part of such a vibrant music culture. Our mission is to help artists develop their craft from the ground up – including their sound, visual identity and overall vision for their music.
Through events like Pulse Culture, we hope to contribute to Brighton’s growing music scene and help artists “bring their visions to life!” – Holly Bunce, Co-head of Marketing.
Brighton is more than just a city, it’s a community that thrives on music, and it wouldn’t be the same without it! It’s amazing to see how creative it is and the freedom artists have to develop their art, shaping their path. We’re here for it all!
Send us your demos – Pool Valley is always listening!
